Exclusively reported last month in HRreview, November will see Toronto-based entrepreneur and Dragon, Bruce Croxon, join a panel of HR leaders to discuss and debate recent developments in performance review and employee evaluation software.

Over 200 HR professionals will be in attendance to hear insights and exchange ideas around Why do you do a performance review? 

The event, to be held at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Toronto, is expected to be a sell out – with a rush anticipated from Toronto-based HR professionals keen to hear from Bruce Croxon, SpriggHR Director and HRreview contributor Jilaine Parkes and well-known employment law expert Steve Mendellsohnn.

Jilaine Parkes said of the need for performance reviews: “There’s been a lot of talk lately about the performance review – ranging from the approach with today’s generation, redesigning the process or taking it online and even getting rid of it altogether!”

It is hoped that the evening event will help demonstrate the key  role of online HR technology in today’s workplace and the time and cost savings that accompany it.

 

About the Panel:

Jilaine Parkes – President of Sprigg Talent Management Systems; online Performance Reviews & 360 Feedback. Jilaine has been in HR / OD for 23 years and has spoken with literally hundreds of people over the last few years; hear the trends and what people think.

Bruce Croxon – Founder and past CEO of Lavalife Corp also panelist of CBC’s Dragon’s Den. Bruce provides his thoughts on the importance of the performance review process regardless of size of company or culture.

Steve Mendelssohn – Partner Watershed LLP –  Labour Lawyer and former VP of HR for Loblaws.  Steve will shed light on what’s defensible from the legal perspective and offer his thoughts on abandoning the review process altogether.

The panel will be moderated by Nicole Bendaly, President at Kinect and author of new book Improving Healthcare Team Performance which offers tools and strategies for improving team and leadership performance, the staff experience and the quality of patient care in healthcare facilities.
