Here’s a great look at future HR recruitment technologies from the team at RolePoint:

With the HR Technology Conference in Las Vegas just around the corner, we thought it appropriate to consult RolePoint’s in-house psychic to conjure up some predictions for the future of HR technology. And here they are:

1) Talent managers will be able to see the future using actionable predictive analytics

Just as I was able to consult a crystal ball to make these predictions for the future of HR technology, soon hiring managers will be able to use smart analytics to recognize upcoming problems and opportunities in talent areas like recruiting and retention. In a recent article Dr John Sullivan says that the coming wave of predictive analytics will be ‘superior to traditional HR metrics, which simply tell you what happened last year.’

2) Gamification will become an even greater focus in recruitment

In his video on the gamification of the recruiting process, leading online recruitment expert @BillBoorman states that ‘recruiting has always been a game’. This idea of gamifying the recruiting process has been gaining significant weight recently. This is in part because gaming is one of the biggest online activities, and for good reason; games are viral, social, addictive and most importantly fun. So in 2014, like a Mario Kart free for all, the race will be on for organizations to gamify their recruitment processes.

3) Social recruiting will be bigger than ever

We are already starting to see an incredible number of new technologies that are enabling recruiters to source great candidates using social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Forward thinking recruiters and early adopters are already embracing these technologies to find the best candidates before their competition does, and in some cases even using them to attract their competitors top talent from their within ranks. In 2014 we will see more and more of the laggards adopting these technologies.

4) The world of recruiting will be even more mobile

With the advent of the smartphone everything has gone mobile. It has transformed recruiting, impacting everything from how recruiters and hiring managers collaborate to how candidates find jobs. According to Google around 1 in 5 job searches are carried out on a mobile device. With the advances in mobile technology that 2014 will bring, we are only going to see more aspects of recruiting going mobile.

5) We are going to see more data and more ways to manage it effectively

According to the fortune cookie I got with my Chinese take away last night- ‘2014 is the year of the data’ (seems legit). As Matt Hixson, CEO of Tellagence, put it “HR will have more information about their employees and the culture than ever before and they are going to be affected by the need to make sense of this data and leverage it to improve the organization.” In 2014 we will see new ways for human resources to utilize big data. Ladies and gentlemen, mark these words.
