When it comes to employee engagement, there’s one thing employers and HR professionals seem to be ignoring: there’s no permanent solution to creating and maintaining engagement. Driving factors differ from industry to industry, company to company, and even employee to employee. The good news is, once you understand the current engagement trends you can begin to make improvements.
The infographic below — created by Quantum Workplace, a company with an employee feedback platform designed to make work better each day — features the results of their 2016 Employee Engagement Trends survey. The survey looked at overall trends as well as those occurring within different demographics. Some highlights include:
- While 77.6% of new employees are engaged, that declines to 63.2% by year 6 of employment.
- 72% of men and 67.9% of women are engaged, but just 40.9% of employees who are of another gender identity are.
- Just 67.3% of Millennials, ages 26-35, are engaged compared to 77.3% of employees over age 66.
