Rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues have climbed since the coronavirus pandemic began in Q1 of 2020 with 46% of full-time workers reporting mental health issues compared with 39% before the crisis, according to a poll of more than 1,400 workers surveyed by insurance company The Standard and Versta Research.
A year into the Covid crisis, many employees have ‘hit the pandemic wall’, and burned-out workers have said stress and depression is costing them work time. With so many more workers increasingly feeling the strain of pandemic anxiety, isolation, and uncertainty we need better tech and tools to help workers get out the other side of a very difficult period.
My guest in HRchat episode 265 is Dr. Monika Roots, Chief Medical Officer at Sanvello Health, a leading digital mental health care provider of in-app therapy to a network of +90 million people!
Listen to the interview with Dr. Roots and get her answers to questions including:
- What are some of the common causes of stress and concern for employees and how has this changed since the pandemic hit?
- Why can it be powerful to draw strength from a wider community of people who understand your situation?
- What would you say to those people suffering at the mo and anxious about opening up?
For our leaders and HR pros, what goes into creating a judgment-free, label-free space? - What are the steps needed to offer employees the resources required to allow them to be authentic and feel safe to express themselves?
