Your resume gets you to the job interview. In fact, through the resume, the company gets the first impression of you as a candidate. Thus it’s very important that you create a resume that looks good and creative.

Of course, you cannot put in pictures or other things! But you can use creative templates and an interesting description to catch the attention of your employer.

Use a lot of bullet points in your Resume to keep it smart and straight forward. You don’t want your employer to read a bunch of paragraphs to spot out the important areas.

Make sure you have all the achievements written in chronological order. The same applies to your qualifications and such. Keep the about me section small, and do leave something to be discussed in the interview.

While the first round is generally straightforward comprising the same old questions about your likes, hobbies, type of work and such, the face to face interview is something different. Do expect questions from diverse spaces, technical, non-technical, sports, general knowledge, structural and all others.

You cannot afford to look like a fool in such cases. In that light, focus on developing your soft skills. Read a lot of newspapers, books, and journals and get yourself prepared for anything. The idea is to appear well learned about everything.

Be Yourself:

Always remember that the organization had made a call to you in the first place because they liked “YOUR” resume. They could have called any candidate but they chose you. Why? Is it only for the profile and the work experience you have put in? Guess not.  

Any resume begins with a section something like “About Yourself”. It is in this section that you talk a bit about yourself. That creates a hell lot of impression.

If your behavior is something very different from what is mentioned in your Resume, the HR and the others taking your interview might get confused.

Show How You Will Fit In The Company’s Culture:

Once you have read the company profile in full, you will get a fair idea about the values and the mission of the company.  Read more on how they work to keep up that value. The customer testimonial, their solution all can give you a brief about it.

Once you have done that, think about how you will align to that organization’s value. What all can you do to live up to that value and goal? You will need to hit on those during the interview. You will have to make your interviewer see that you are one worth hiring.

What Are Your Strengths:

No, you do not have to blow your trumpet in this case. Use the art of subtlety. Touch upon what all you have accomplished in life. Though your resume might mention all these in details, cater to the emotional segment during the interview. For instance, you can talk about all the hard work you had put in to achieve that success. Talk about your process of planning and such.
