Jane Watson, Senior Director, People Partners, Klick

Jane has spent the last 15 years in HR building teams and programs. Her career has included regional and national leadership roles, and she’s currently Sr Director, People Partners at Klick, a life sciences commercialization agency. She is also the founder of The Aperta Project, an initiative aimed at helping organizations better understand and prevent workplace sexual harassment, and she’s completing her Master’s in organizational change at Concordia University.

Alysha M. Campbell, HR Business Partner, Canada, Index Exchange

Alysha is an accomplished and respected Strategic HR Leader with a decade of experience that encompasses all facets of Human Resource Management. From executing successful multi-million dollar workforce recruitment and optimization projects to spearheading employee culture initiatives, Alysha has truly seen and done it all in the HR space. Among her various business ventures, Alysha is currently an HR Business Partner with Index Exchange, a Global Ad Tech Organization. She is a graduate of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and is pursuing further studies as a Change Management Practitioner (CMP).

Dr. Michael Mousseau, National Wellbeing & Engagement Consultant at Gallagher

Michael supports Gallagher’s Canadian benefits team on their client and prospects Wellbeing & Engagement needs. His background and expertise in neuroscience and mental health gives Gallagher a unique set of skills that help further differentiate us in the industry. Shairoz Moledina, Senior Manager, Employee Relations at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation

Shairoz is the Senior Manager, Employee Relations at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. In her current role she leads a team that is responsible for delivering the following programs: Employee Relations, Absence Management Services, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety and Workplace Well-being.

Shairoz has been with CMHC for the past few years. Prior to that she worked in the Federal Public Service for 17 years in various departments including: Treasury Board Secretariat, the Department of Justice, the Department of National Defense, and the National Research Council and Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Shairoz started her career as a labour relations advisor for Treasury Board Secretariat and worked her way up to the position of Director, Labour Relations at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans; a position which she held since 2012.

Katrina Moss, Learning Acceleration Lead at Shopify

Katrina started with Shopify in 2015 and Leads the Learning Acceleration team, responsible for company-wide learning and development programs for Shopify’s more than 4,000 employees around the world.

She is a passionate learning and development (L&D) professional known for her curiosity, energy and enthusiasm. She believes in maximizing potential and performance through learning and continual growth. L&D is her passion and it is her experience in other areas of talent, such as talent acquisition, HR advisory, talent management, and employee engagement programs that give her a well-rounded perspective. Katrina also has experience running a retail business which has enlightened her to the thrills and challenges of entrepreneurship. Katrina’s current focus in L&D includes leading a multidisciplinary team in the creation of new programs, overseeing implementation, and continually iterating so the programs remain relevant and aligned with the needs of the business. She has a personal passion to spread growth mindset using tangible practices that can be incorporated at the individual, team, and organizational level. She loves working with a motivated team to achieve results that are far greater than what each individual would accomplish apart.

Dr. Bill Howatt, Chief of Research, Workforce Productivity

Bill Howatt is Chief of Research, Workforce Productivity for The Conference Board of Canada. Bill is the former chief research and development officer for workforce productivity, Morneau Shepell, and founder of Howatt HR Consulting. He has over 25 years’ experience in strategic HR, mental health and addictions, and leadership. He is the creator of the online Certificate in Management Essentials (CME) program, a senate-approved leaders program that offers 18 courses through the University of New Brunswick. He is also the creator of Pathway to Coping, an online course at the same university that is grounded in the cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) approach.

Bill created the Quality of Work Life (QWL) tool that has been converted into the Morneau Shepell Total Health Index and was the co-creator of The Globe and Mail and Morneau Shepell’s Employee Recommended Workplace Award. He is also co-creator of The Globe and Mail Your Life at Work Initiative that touched more 14,000 Canadians. He has published numerous books and articles, such as The Coping Crisis, Pathway to Coping, the Wiley Series on addictions, The Human Services Counseling Toolbox, and The Addiction Counselor’s Desk Reference. He is a regular contributor to The Globe and Mail 9 to 5 and Leadership Lab columns and The Chronicle Herald.

Mario Baril, Ombudsman of Mental Health and Employee Well-Being

Mario Baril joined the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) in October 2018, in the newly created position of Ombudsman for mental health and employee well-being. He has held several executive positions over the past 12 years in the areas of strategic and business communications at Public Service and Procurement Canada, as Chief of Staff to a Deputy Minister at the Treasury Board Secretariat, and as Executive Director for the Association of Professional Executives of the Public Service of Canada.

Charles Boyer, Senior Manager with The Conference Board of Canada.

Over the past 5+ years, Charles has supported research, workshops, webinars, conferences, and executive networks within workplace health, wellness, and safety. A few of the highlights of his work over the years includes designing and facilitating large annual conferences (Mental Health in the Capital and the Better Workplace Conference), managing the day-to-day operations of the Council on Workplace Health and Wellness and the Health and Safety Leadership Centre, and building great professional relationships with healthy workplace leaders across the Country.
