Q: Tell us about yourself – your career history and how you came to be in your current role

A: I have served the Human Resources industry for over 20 years.  I actually started in accounting/bookkeeping which morphed into managing HR.  My experience has been very diverse working in many industries and many HR disciplines, which offers both broad and deep skill sets.  Moving into a consulting role made perfect sense at this point in my career.

Q: What does your company do?

A: We work with business owners and leaders to develop and implement People and Talent strategies that anchor a thriving culture and drive financial success.  HR Affiliates provides HR Consulting, Outsourcing and Professional Recruiting.

Q: What made you decide to be a speaker at DisruptHR Louisville?

A: HR continues to evolve, and this is a great opportunity to share what I’ve learned from working with business owners and leaders.

Q: What will you be speaking about at DisruptHR Louisville?

A: What business HR is really in.

Q: What are the major learnings that attendees will take away from your session?

A: Be a business partner and thought leader.

Q: You only have 5 minutes to present at DisruptHR Louisville. What unique challenges and opportunities does this format offer?

A: Logistics is the biggest challenge – I’d rather present without slides with only 5 minutes.  The opportunity is to break out of the traditional presentation mode and just speak the truth!

Q: Why does Louisville need an event like DisruptHR?

A: It’s always a good time to hear from thought leaders, and I love the concept!

Q: Are you attending/speaking at any other HR-related events in the next 6-12 months? If so which ones and why?

A: Yes, KY Worksite Wellness Conference, KYSHRM Conference and various local SHRM Chapters
